The State of Florida SHIP funds that have been used in past years to provide down payment and closing cost assistance for low to moderate income homebuyers are no longer available. We are not adding any new requests to our waiting lists at this time, as the State has not funded this program for the coming year.

If you are looking for a homeownership opportunity, please keep in mind that we do have homes available through the new Neighborhood Stabilization Program, and there are some funds (a limited amount) available for City of Lakeland purchases for very-low or low income buyers.  The City may require special considerations.  All homes must pass specific inspection requirements and homes built prior to 1978 have specific requirements related to lead based paint procedures.  Call for details.

Certain restrictions for funding apply. As with all our programs, funds are limited, and are subject to final availability and approval by the local governments.

The City of Lakeland also has Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) homes available.

Information on the Neighborhood Stabilization Program

Homes are for sale in the Polk County Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP).  Homes are being purchased in targeted communities throughout the county and are being fully rehabilitated for sale to low and moderate income homebuyers. Assistance is up to 20% or possibly more of the home purchase price plus additional help with closing costs!

Keystone Challenge Fund is a non-profit corporation established in 1991 with a primary purpose to operate for the advancement of affordable housing.

Our mission is to provide homebuyer education and affordable financing to low and moderate income homebuyers.

We administer State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds for Polk County, the City of Lakeland, and the City of Winter Haven.  SHIP funds  provide down payment and/or closing cost assistance to eligible homebuyers who have secured affordable first mortgage financing.

Keystone's programs are HUD acceptable to provide secondary financing for FHA-insured mortgage loans.

Keystone is also a Community Housing Development Organization, and we develop newly constructed homes for sale to low income homebuyers.
